How well do ferrets take to a name change?
I had Charlie, he's 2. I just got Charlotte. She's 4/5. When I call Charlotte, poor Charlie comes running from wherever he was sleeping because the names sound so similar. Charlotte knows her name too though. I'm not sure what to do.

I am sure she will learn a new name if you want to change it. I changed the name of my craiglist's boy--- Garett to Buddy. He know's it very well. He may also be picking up the rise and fall of your voice as well ---you know how you have a certain way when you call them.

Heck, Scamp had 5 nicknames and he learned all of em Valid point. They DO learn a variety of names. Frank knows Frank, Frankie, Frankenfurter, and his favourite Fanky-Fanks.

Goober was originally Diego. He knows Dago, Day day, goob and junior, which he inherited from his mentor Scamp. Poppy was originally Layla, I think, then Carol then Poppy. We got her around 3 months old. Eddie and Uncle Joe both had other names before we adopted them. Heck, Larry was named Darla by his original owner. I don'r rmember Frank's original name, but he came with Larry, and I named him Frank after Frank Burns, aka ferret face on MASH
