Tonight I noticed that Hiro is favoring one of his back legs. He's putting some weight on it, but not his full amount, and he is going to lengths to avoid standing on his hind legs, something he normally does pretty often. Otherwise, he seems happy. It did not cause him noticeable discomfort when I touched it, but it seems weaker when you watch him move about. If he seems the same tomorrow, does this warrant a vet visit or just a little extra eye on him to see what happens? The vet is almost an hour away, and the car stresses him out, so I hesitate to take him in for things that will clear up on their own, but if it's potentially serious or seems worse tomorrow than tonight than of course I will take him in.

I would be tempted to do observation. Are there any lumps or swellings that you can detect? Any warmth along the bone or joints? He could have strained it running around, on a ramp (this is a common injury unfortunately). Keep us posted ciao

He's still favoring it a little today- but maybe not as badly? I can't feel any swelling around the area- in fact, his leg seems fine except that he is walking a little funny. If he was a human, I would think he'd had too much to drink and was stumbling from it. Other than his gait, though, he seems ok. I guess he must have just strained it. My critters run free in a bedroom, so no ramps; there is furniture to climb on, but he's not much of a climber and can't really reach anything high enough to hurt himself in a fall. I will keep an eye on him- our vet is open Saturdays, so I can take him in tomorrow if it seems worse again.

I'd continue to watch him closely. If it gets worse/doesn't start improving, I'd take him to the vet. Could he have gotten stepped on, closed in any doors, or something like that?

I had one of my guys hurt themselves by falling off the bed. It didn't require vetting but he did have an odd gait for a bit. As I kept seeing improvement we didn't do anything about it ciao

Is it possible for you to get a video of it?

Any updates on the limp? Has it improved at all?
