So Rocket and Flash were having fun playing on my three season porch chock full of toys and activities ... I went into the living room and The two darted in behind me and disappeared. I didn’t think much of it because they have played in the living room before many times enjoying the carpet mostly!
]Well it was very VERY humid that day which was last Friday July 13... Anyway, about literately 5 minutes of me Straightening up the living room putting the Afghan on the back of the couch I realized I haven’t seen Rocket or Flash, but I could’ve sworn I seen them ravaging inside the top pillow
of the couch which I do not allow. so I pulled out the Afghan pull back the cushions,, I didn’t see them, I started to panic and went in and got their little horn toy and that I squeak to make them come out wherever they are hiding,] ( and they always do) Well my husband said “ I have flash” ]and I said, where is Rocket? I started freaking out and I said look in the couch flip the couch I yelled and there was Rocket! laying flat his tail was all fluffed out his eyes were bulging and it looks like he might’ve been choking up past the point. My husband grab him up, looked down his throat grab his keys ran out the door to the vet! Halfway there he pulled over and did Mouth to mouth on rocket, and a little farther down he stopped to do it again until he got to the vet which took about seven minutes they were waiting for him when he got there in the immediately put oxygen on rocket and thankfully he made it !
The reason I am writing this story to you people is to let you know the reason and what happened to Rocket that day.
1. He was all amped up from playing on the porch so he was already pumped up. Then that and jetting into the living room where there’s no air-conditioning, he got even more overheated.
2. It turned out that when I was squeaking the horn he was trying to get to me and apparently he had already been caught on a staple that was poking out from the couch which cut his head by the way, and it rendered him into shock to the point he could not breathe .
3. before ever letting your baby play in the living room check the couch for holes, check the couch any springs sticking out, and check the couch for staples protruding . Even if your couch is brand new which ours is make the time to check first .
