He’s still gaining weight slowly and steadily, and has now really adopted the unfortunate “sick adrenal ferret” look- his ribs are showing up front but has a pot belly. He continues to slowly bald on his lower back and belly. Not pretty. He had a bit of a prolapse last night and this morning, some blood because he was chewing at his anus and scooting it around but the tissue wasn’t that bad looking. It’s better this morning but still a little swollen, no blood or chewing or scooting. Stools are normal width and soft as he eats grinds so they’re easy to pass luckily.
He can no longer easily traverse stairs going up or down, and demands to be carried by pawing at my leg when I go. I oblige! Then he wiggles when we get to the top/bottom because he’s eager to be put down. There was a time when he was stranding himself at the top of stairs frequently because he would go up but not down, but now he’s just staying on the first floor when he’s on his own. He’ll still brave the basement stairs but slowly, and not the main house stairs.

Bad news, his BG was 49 today three and a half hours after meds and food despite the increase from last time. Increasing again to 0.35 mL’s.
In other news, he’s still gaining weight and his prolapse went away within a few days. Still afraid of stairs, has now stopped using the basement stairs too.

How old is he now? Maybe he just doesn't like the stairs anymore.
Hope you get his BG stable again.

Well, he turned six! He also is now starting to get cataracts. You can see them reflecting in certain lights. I haven’t noticed him acting like his vision is bad yet, but we don’t tend to move stuff around, so he knows the layout of his cage and the house.

BG today of 83, yay! Four and a half hours after meds and food. I don’t know why, though. Keeping to the same dose of 0.35 mL’s. Weight steady, changed from his main beef source being chuck to top round this past month, which I know has less fat on it but that’s what the store had. Back to chuck this month.

He went down the basement stairs today, which was a big surprise. Hasn’t done that in over a month.
