I’ve been thinking about it and I guess I’ll aim for 3 mg next, in small increments. Worth it to give it a try. Then I can also switch brands, this one is a liquid that has a little sugar in it and everybody makes plain 3 mg tabs I can crush.

we found 5 mg tabs that we split in 2 so they didn't have to consume so big a tab. we crushed it, put in maybe a cc of water to dissolve and then added some oil. They lapped it up. Melatonin tabs don't have the bitter taste of medication tabs so it was easy. Of course, ferrets will lap up vaseline...

Mine has to have salmon oil mixed into Vaseline to eat it, but he will try to eat soap bars!

I didn’t want to talk about it but Winnipeg stopped eating meat again two days ago, had to go back to eggs. I’m adding supplements but, ugh. Gonna try mixing ground meat into the eggs tonight.

He didn’t eat it, back to pure eggs again. He didn’t even want that this morning, had to keep sitting him down in front of it to get it down him. I think I’m going to put him down soon.

your ferret, your call. they do go thru moods and phases, but no one knows him like you. I've been thru it. Miss Prissy lived to 10 and was deaf her whole life and blind the last 2 years, incontinent the last 6 months. We're here for you.

That's tough. Like unclejoe said, you know him better then anyone. It's a tough decision but you will know in your heart when it's time. What is his most favourite meat? Maybe try that.

He won’t even eat eggs now. His favourite was pork for the past few months. He is subsisting on heavy cream, salmon oil, and medication. I’m euthanizing him today, he doesn’t want to go on and he’ll just starve to death with constant diarrhea like this. He squeals in pain when he has the diarrhea. I’m very distraught it’s ending this way, the insulinoma and adrenal are under control it seems. Perhaps one of them metastasized onto a nearby organ causing the pain making him not want to eat. He squeals when you pick him up, too.

It’s over, we held him until he died.

I'm really sorry for your loss. I feel like he was part mine after all this. I've been out all day and I just saw this. It's never easy, but you knew it was time. Dook in Peace, Sir Winnie. We'll all miss you

Condolences on Winnies passing, you both gave it a long and courageous effort. He was a true gentleman who lived with grace and fortitude, I will miss reading of his journey. I know his passing will be heart wrenching after all the time and love you gave to make his life the best it could be. I hope you can find solace so that the memories of the years you shared are fond ones that can bring a smile to you.
You are in my thoughts

My condolences Corvidophile. You did an amazing job caring for Winnie. You knew it was time to let him go. Every pet we let go takes a piece of us with them but we keep the memories they have given us. Remember them always. You have also helped us with your journey with Winnie and what you did for him. I'm sorry I wasn't on here to see this sooner. My heart goes out to you and I feel your pain. I know I need to cherish the time I have with my ferret because that time will come all too soon and I will be in the same position. Dook in peace little Winnie, you were such a cute ferret. I know you loved him unconditionally and he loved you. Hugs
