For people, I heard high dose IV Vitamin C helps kill cancer cells without harming the good ones. But ferrets aren't used to getting a lot of vitamin C, so I don't know if this is a good idea. Definitely something to look into though.

i really think you should up the melatonin to maybe 1-1.5 mg. it won't do any harm. it didn't seem to cause any drowsiness or any other ill effects, and it is a naturally produced hormone. the hair should come back full quicker

I’m sticking with 0.5 mg until at least the next appointment (Monday) to make sure he’s doing ok on this dose.

When was his last des implant? Because if the implant's effects are getting less potent, the tumor is there, and it's growing, the symptoms could get worse. Then the cancer cells would have to be destroyed, but naturally. He looks better now, though. I'm trying to find ways to naturally kill cancer without side effects to see if I can help. Please note, I'm still learning, and I don't know as much as some of you on many topics. Please correct me if I've said anything wrong, because I don't want to hurt any ferret. I hope this can help your ferret, though. I have to go now but here's an article. I'm going to read it later and see how it could fit with ferrets. draxe.com/health/10-natural-cancer-treatments-hidden-cures/

His last implant was I think March, so we’re coming up on a year. We have an appointment scheduled Monday for both another implant and a glucose check.
I read the article and it’s definitely omnivore-centric. No way a ferret is juicing, haha. But he does get plenty of raw beef liver. I have some tumeric on hand, my husband takes it as a painkiller, I suppose I could try sprinkling a tad on his food.

there is a med that has been used to treat covid that shows the ability to destroy cancer cells, but I can't remember which one or where I saw it. I will look for it.
Edit: Turns out it's HCQ. Search for hydroxychloroquine cancer and there a numerous articles.

I read a few things and it seems to mostly be used in conjunction with other chemotherapies. Something to think about at least.
Well we just got out of the vet, BG was 68 seven hours after food and meds which is fine, BUT when they were implanting him with the Suprelorin he jumped and it shot out of him and down the sink. So now they have to order another and I’m not sure when I can get him in next.

Also from this website, pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/30767733/"Conclusion: oxidative stress and the resulting oxidative damage are important contributors to the formation and progression of cancer." This website shows how a molecule from milk thistle helps reduce oxidative stress pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19119949/"GSH (glutathione, an anti-oxidative thing) content, increased significantly in feline lymphocytes and granulocytes following 5 days of oral administration" " Following 5 days of SPC (milk thistle molecule) administration, the percent of phagocytic cells that were responding optimally significantly increased (from 37 +/- 11.8% to 45 +/- 17.5%) This is the milk thistle thing they used. Silibinin-phosphatidylcholine And more glutathione info Glutathione is the most important molecule we need to stay healthy and prevent disease: - The #1 antioxidant - Immune system booster and blood cleanser - Repairs cellular damage, while at the same time facilitating energy production - Supports increased strength and endurance - Speeds up recovery from exertion, muscle pain and fatigue - L-Glutathione exists within each and every cell in our body, neutralizing free radicals with widespread health benefits, helping your body to repair cells and detoxify your liver and blood of pollutants and foreign drugs. And another super good molecule, which is found most in animals who live longest. Superoxide Dismutase (SOD) is a powerful enzyme working to repair cells and reduce superoxide damage. SOD resides in the dermis and epidermis of the skin, and is key to the production of healthy skin building cells called fibroblasts. SOD acts as both an antioxidant and anti-inflammatory, neutralizing free radicals that lead to wrinkles and pre-cancerous cell changes. SOD helps the body use zinc, copper and manganese and has been used in the treatment of arthritis, prostate problems, corneal ulcers, burns, inflammatory diseases and long-term damage by smoke and radiation exposure, as well as reducing side effects of chemotherapy drugs. Topically, SOD may help reduce facial wrinkles and scar tissue, while healing wounds and burns, lightening dark or hyper-pigmented skin and providing protection against harmful UV rays. L-Glutathione and SOD taken orally are mostly destroyed in the stomach

Two small updates: I’ve increased the melatonin to 0.75 mg, and the implant came in so I’ve booked him the evening of the 14th. Happy Valentine’s Day, get stabbed a second time, haha

Glad you were able to get another implant. That's a shame that the first one went down the sink. Are you taking progress pictures of Winnie's fur growth?

Not too much progress these past two weeks, which is why I upped it. This is today. You can see the little dark scab where they inserted the needle to no avail.

Their skin is so tough to get the needle in. The first time Charlie got his first implant, I was there and I saw how hard it was for them to get the needle in the skin. The next couple of times he got it I wasn't there because we can't go into the vet's office.
Winnie's fur looks like it's filling in a bit more. You see him every day so you don't notice it as much. lol
