In some of the links in the first post, I believe they talk about making shelf covers. Granted it's for an FN, but the principle would be the same.

Like some others I am looking for a pattern for shelf covers for the ferret nation trays (the main full size try, the one with the corner cutout and the half trays). I'd like the patterns as my mother has offered to make them for me if I buy the material but she isn't the greatest free form sewer so a pattern is required. I've looked just about everywhere online but cannot find patterns for the shelves (everything else under the sun but no shelf patterns).

Basically i have made shelf covers and i find the easiest way to have them fastened onto the shelves are by inserting a ribbon so that i can tie it as a ribbon to the cage on all 4 corners. So measure the shelf, sew it using the inside out method, but insert a piece of ribbon on each ends so that you can tie it to the cage. Ill try to take a picture later at night. or even better still, if you have gromits... make holes on all 4 corners so that you can hook it to the cage and not let it move

Thanks Seirra but I was looking more for the style of the pillowcase covers. I may just end up ordering a set and have my Mom pick them apart to make more.

Measure them and give the measurements to your mother as if she were going to make a pillowcase.. it would be like a pillowcase but smaller scale.. if there are curves in your shelving trace around it . Thats how i used to make my patterns in home ec. Add a couple inches for stitching Sent from my Motorola Electrify using proboards

I know I prefer to make my ferrets' cage accessories, so I know where the 'flaws' in it are (though I try to avoid them - it's nice to know exactly what to check for), I can make everything match to my liking, make it whatever size I want, and choose the colors and patterns and customize everything how I like. I thought I'd put the videos up here for everyone to use. Everything has hidden seams, so you don't have to worry about your ferrets' nails (or even limbs) snagging in threads. There's only one exposed seam on each item, and that's just to stitch up the hole that makes all the other seams hidden. I plan to add how-tos for: FN ramp covers (with zippers) Sleeping bags Hanging tent A simple pillow Possibly a tube Will add the videos on here as I make them! Hammock: Cushiony Pillow Bed: Cube - Part 1: Cube - Part 2: I used this tutorial, it was amazing and it was easy to do I may have made the door a bit too big but they still like it ^_^
