What do you do when you can not give raw food?

I am studying about raw food.



I would like to bring him with me when I go to my parents, so I think that some days I can not eat raw food for a few days. (Even in the event of a disaster)

That Feline Natural looks like a good freeze dried raw food you can use in the event that the normal raw food is unavailable. You can feed freeze dried completely instead of frankenprey or whole prey, but it is much more expensive and you need to still provide at least 3 different proteins (ie. get more then one variety of the freeze dried food).

Canned food is always cooked so it's not as preferred as raw food. Baby food doesn't have enough nutrition for ferrets and is usually only used when a ferret is ill and won't/can't eat normal food.

It is expensive but I plan to buy several freeze dried raws for him.

Teaching him to eat freeze dried is a good alternative, to his regular raw diet. Many here use it. I have little information as I don't use it. I do know that it is recommended to feed hydrated (add water)but as a treat you can feed a little dry. The reason behind hydrating is that it actually removes moisture from the body to hydrate and make the food digestible. Adding water means your ferret will remain properly hydrated. It's far superior to any baby food (that usually isn't fit for babies much less a carnivore)
