How long until you should see improvement after implementing triple therapy? (Metro/Amoxi/Pepcid) I am on day 4 and am still seeing an assortment of greens from my box of 64 (may have covered them all)
The diagnosis of possible helicobacter was made from xray by the emergency vet with consultation from exotics (but not my regular vet who was out of town) - no fecal sent for analysis. Some initial slight improvement in attitude but still won't eat unless I syringe and only taking about 10ml at a time.

Are fighting helicobacter or ECE? The symptoms you're describing are similar to ECE. Helicobacter stools are usually black and tarry ciao

Well I guess I have my answer!
In the beginning... the stools were loose and brown with some fat specs. The next day, there was tan and slimy then very watery. Then came the blood stool, red not dark and he went to the ER doc (his doc is out until 1st week in June). Xray showed loads of gas throughout the digestive system and a spot at the ilium that might indicate blockage but even the expert radiologists were not sure.
ER vet wanted to start him on triple therapy for possible helicobacter (stools only brown with the 1 bloody), SQ fluids and pumpkin in case of blockage. Stools remained dark brown and watery until 2nd day after beginning TT then they went through the greens (dark brown green, dark green, medium green, light green/yellow) then (finally) yesterday they were back to brown, but still watery. And today, they are normal brown color, somewhat formed but still soft and with some fat flecks. Plus, today is the first day he ate a small mouse and some heart directly off his plate by himself!! I had to syringe feed for several days and he would only take about 1cc at a time. Then -obviously- he graduated to eating food off my finger (why does it always taste better off the finger?) and then to eating from a spoon. He's also moving around now and seems so much more like himself today.
So, according to Zebby (the patient) it gets worse for the first few days and by day 5 there is improvement.
