Good afternoon
We have 2male ferrets neutered (Sherritt 1yr and Reilly 2.5yrs) the vet we currently go to. Every visit they want to do a fully exam on them($200). We just had them in 3 months ago and had discussed the implant for them. Our vet is saying that they have to do a full exam again on them before the implant. I say they are just using the exam as a money grab. Any suggestion??

Yes,I think they r after the money. The only thing my vet asks is do I want to get the ferret's blood sugar tested before implanting---as it may cause them to crash (ferrets that have insulinoma). She wants owners to be aware.
Hopefully you can find another vet---or give them a good talking to.

Did they get a full exam when you took them in 3 months ago? That's crazy! I can understand why mind had an exam because he wasn't at the vet (my sister's vet for his first shot) for a year before I implanted mine. But the so called exam was a joke! All she did was look at him, checked his teeth and his ears and felt him a bit but really not much and then said he was healthy. But she did give him the implant. I had my vet give him the rest of his shots after I brought him home and hadn't been a full year yet so I didn't want any more shots other then the implant.
