my current menu(which i don't always follow to the day. depends on how their poops are)
Monday - bones
Tuesday - heart
Wednesday- bones
Thursday-AM. organ- liver/other organ.
Thursday- PM. muscle meat
Friday- bones
Saturday- bones
Sunday- muscle meat
should i switch some things up? most bones are chicken or turkey.
organs could be anything ;D pork, chicken, beef. heart is generally the same.
IBD part/questions
i do have duck, but right now i have an IBD baby(or so i believe) who is good with duck and lamb. i have to work up to something else soon.
i guess this is up to the ferret, but will switching up her food from ground lamb patties(have everything) to duck(which works with her) upset her tummy. or does it really depend on the ferret? since she's not getting an chewing action with the ground lamb.
i have turkey readily available, but i don't know about organs for turkey. just bones/meat. should i try turkey next?

On your Thurs you have muscle meat and organ meats. Depending on your ferrets you may want to make their pm meal a bone meal switching it with your Fri bone meal and making the Fri meal a muscle meal. This means that you're alternating a bone day with a meat day (it doesn't have to be that way, I've just found that I don't get as sloppy a stool if I feed a boned meat after an organ or a heavy blooded muscle meal). As far as you IBD baby, it will be entirely what she will stomach. Every fuzz is different. My Ghenghis could eat any multiple numbers of meats but....I coudn't mix my organ meats and muscle meats from different proteins. I couldn't use beef livers and feed him chicken meat. Sounds weird but that was as good as I could figure out. So, if the cats were eating lamb and the ferrets were eating chicken and he ate both he would have an attack  ciao |

oh dear. i guess you would have had to co-ordinate their feedings.
so just maybe put a bone in meal after organs?

If you find they are having pretty messy stools, then yes. Switch the muscle meat meal with a bone in.
For IBD, I'm still trying to disover what works with Boris, and right now, it's lamb. We are slowly introducing some venison, both commercial grinds. He can, however, eat lamb chunks without too much of a problem. At least he gets some chewing action with that.
I'm not even going to try bone in meals with him for a very long time, since to date, he isn't tolerating anything with feathers. Maybe at some point in the future, but not right now.

maybe fish, since that doesn't have feathers ;D and if you don't mind the smell.
i guess could try beef or turkey next. i'll see what my mom says, since we just bought 8lbs of lamb patties.

You may want to try a slow transition for her as well. Katt's Koda evidently does better with a faster transition time between proteins. Boris appears to need about 10 days per transition.

Best bet is to start a chart. Date, she ate this or that. Something caused some stress(new person in the house, fight with cage mate), etc., as well as what the stools are like.
That way, you know exactly what is causing problems, and when.

Boris did a fair bit of really violent vomiting as well. Really hacking, body spasms, etc. That, and the stools, along with weight loss are what led to his official diagnosis of IBD.
