Anyone have any tips on keeping your noodles from spilling dog water bowls? I have two older boys who have never been a problem, but the newest edition to the family (a young kit) loves to drag the dog's bowl around and spill it all over the floor when they have free roam time.
I have been looking at different ways to try and prevent this (dog bowl stands and silicone mats with inlays for dog bowls) but both seem to have downsides. For the dog bowl stands, I wouldn't doubt that the noodles would push the bowls from the underside and tip them that way, and for the inlay silicone mats, I could see them chewing on them/wouldn't be safe to have out with the ferrets.
Any suggestions?
Thank you!

Depending on the size of your dogs maybe an elevated dog bowl stand?

Depending on the size of your dogs maybe an elevated dog bowl stand? I was thinking about making a solid wood one (so it couldn't be climbed like the wire ones can), but it would need to be fairly high (as in, 2ft+) to keep my noodles out of it. The ferrets also really like to drink out of the dog bowl, so if I could keep it available for them when they are free roaming that would be a big plus. They like the dog spit flavor It's always funny to see three ferrets and a dog drinking out of the same bowl.

How about a rubber backed bath mat?

How about a heavier ceramic bowl. He might be able to take a nice little dip in the bowl, but I don't think he'd be able to do more than push it.

Many kits grow out of this water obsession, just thought I'd throw it out there. I avoid all rubber bottomed sealed edged...rubber anything with kits (ferrets too but kits in particular). I use a giant metal dog bowl, set inside a large kitty litter pan. Does it prevent spillage...sort of. Generally, the large dog bowl can't just be overturned but it's fun to swim in and you can try and drown your brother in it. Most of the water (except that absorbed by kit coat) is actually kept in the cat litter box. It doesn't avoid the splat marks that kits create as they hit floor, walls and doors but it does stop from the whole bowl being upended on the tile floor and turning it into a skating rink ciao

We have a couple heavy bowls, dog sized, and Scamp and little Abita like to move them, and oif they cant, they will splash the water out.

I made some foam board boxes for water bowls and I'll keep you posted on if it helps at all (they are currently getting varnished so they are water proof). If they work, I'll try and get pictures up somewhere because they were pretty easy and inexpensive to make.
I made a tiny one for the ferrets that is a 2" tall box that holds a tiny bowl, and then one for the large dog bowl that is 18" tall box. I'm going to weigh them down and hopefully that will stop the excessive spilling. It has been almost nightly that the bowl gets drug across the kitchen and I'm worried about my wood floor and rugs if this continues.
I'm fine with them playing in the water and snorkeling, but am not a fan of them going out of there way to drag the bowl around, flip it over, and then try and stash it. My poor pup is left without water if we don't catch it early.

In out last home, little Abita would pick up a full soup bowl (corelle) and stash it behind a china cabinet. Of course, she had to turn it sideways to get it there, leaving a soupy mess for the others to find and lick up. Or me to clean up.

I guess I'm lucky that my boy just stashes the water bowl! Oh my, I can't imagine the stink of spilled soup across my kitchen rugs.

The only place my noodle spills water is in the tub when I put a cup of water in there for him! Lol. He doesn't touch the dog's bowls at all.
