Is it ok if I feed my ferret dry food and wet food. I'm still feeding her the marshalls cause it came with her when I bought her but I eventually want to switch to another brand and wet food I feed her stella and chewys

If it is cooked, wet food, it will be ok. If it is raw, you need to wait at least two hours--Someone correct me on those hours if I am wrong. If you are interested in raw feeding, here is the info one reads. holisticferretforum.com/natural-diet/raw-diet-the-meat-of-the-site/It shows you how to create a balanced diet and tells why it must be balanced. People will help you as you switch(you will post your experiences during the switch and get feedback). Kits are very easy to switch. Ferrets particularly 1 year old and up are a little harder. I have switched a 3.5 year old, a 1 year old, and 2 others that were 1.5 years old.

The wet food I feed her is freeze dried and i read that your suppose to keep food out all day so that's why I keep the dry food when she is in her crate. She eats them both she seems to be happy

Yes kibble stays out all day for kibble fed ferrets. I do not know what the protocol for feeding kibble and freeze-dried. People doing raw meat and kibbles here are usually doing the switch.
If there is no stomach upset--I assume it is just fine---but somebody that knows may answer.

If she will eat just the Stella & Chewey's fdr, then you can ditch the kibble. Rehydrate for two meals a day, and if you like you can crumble some dry up for snacking in between.

Any suggestions It helps to transition to a new diet by grinding up the new diet and coating their old food with it for a while before adding actual pieces of the food that they can otherwise pick up/remove and eat around. Transition over the course of a few weeks and they should get used to it-kibble eating ferrets tend to be picky little buggers.

Great thank you for this advice I was gonna say I'm also having this issue with her shes taking out the new food and eating the marshalls. She is super picky my last ferret ate everything lol My rescues were both 2+ years old and hooked on a poor quality kitten diet. I have been able to transition them to different types of my homemade "kibble" by creating a flour (dehydrated and then ground in the coffee grinder) or their original food and coating the new foods with it so it smells the same. Also, a thing to keep in mind: if you switch to a completely wet diet, you need to make sure you are giving them something to chew on to keep their jaw strong and their teeth clean (think bones to chew on-as they would eat the whole pray in the wild). Animals on wet diets have notoriously poor dental health, so it doesn't hurt to have a dry kibble available to maintain good dental health.

Thanks but I'm just trying to get her away from the Marshall's kibble now I'm mixing it with wysong so we will get use to that first lol. She doesn't seem to like FDR wet food anyway so I'm at a loss with her.

She doesn't seem to like FDR wet food anyway so I'm at a loss with her. Try putting a 90% serving of the Marshalls kibble in a plastic baggie with just 10% Wysong for a bit so that the Marshall smell will take over. That helped me when I switched a ferret from his old food to Wysong. They also have FDR foods that you can feed dry. I used to feed my first ferret the FDR just as a powder in his food and gradually started going from powder to very small chunks until I finally got him used to the taste. Ferrets imprint on their food, so switching can take a very long time.
