Hello, I'm setting up a mouse breeding system for my two ferrets (One Male, One Female) how many females would I need to set up in my system to be sufficient for two ferrets? would 25 be enough? or should i Breed more of them? also, I would like to know how long a mouse gestation period is and how long they need to take a break between litters. One last thing, Does anyone have mice that have chewed through a plastic container? My females will be in a few separate plastic containers, like the ones you can get at target for $15, Will they be fine in there or could they chew through it and escape?

kodo i have 3 male ferrets and i have two breeding groups of mice with 3 females and 1 male per group. I keep the male in and i have one litter per mouse per month, after 4 litters i cull the current breeders and replace with new groups. Babies are weaned at 4 weeks and culled at 8 weeks. this month i have had 31 babies from 2 litters with more to come. i use similar boxes and i haven't had any escapes yet

First off- tip for your mouse bins, make sure you cut holes out for mesh on the top, not the side. They will coat the mesh in pee if you put it on the side (LEARN FROM MY MISTAKE 😂😂😂😂) Second, how old are your ferrets and how much do they eat per day? It really depends on if you just want the mice to be a weekly meal, or an actual part of their diet!
