CBD oil can be derived from marijuana or hemp. They are closely related, but the hemp does not contain THC, the illegal intoxicating component. In CBD oil from pot, the THC is removed. CBD is legal in Tennessee, while medical marijuana is not.

Here we have to be cautious as marijuana and all it's components are legal both medically and in it's intoxicated formula Generally, CBD oils are medically used so lack THC. I use a pet specific creation. ciao

Thank you all for your comments on CBD! Update on Claudius: He is back home! And he seems to have a ton of energy and is very active. He is done with his radiation treatments for now, and the vet at WSU said to have him x-rayed again in 1-2 months, so I've set up an appointment already to have him x-rayed in 6 weeks. I've also started him on some CBD, formulated for cats so it's in salmon oil. When we got home on Saturday, my significant other let him out of the carrier, then let the girls out, and they were overjoyed to see him. They nibbled on him and groomed him. Claudius started racing around the house, checking all his stashes and dooking happily. Then he played with the girls. We are all glad he's home! The vet & staff at WSU gave him a little bandana with "Cancer Survivor" on it. They were fantastic throughout this process and kept me updated daily. Because thymomas are rare in ferrets, the vet would like to do a necropsy after Claudius dies, which hopefully won't be for a long time. It's not a fun thing to think about, but I hope it will help other ferrets.

Those of you who used CBD with your ferts, which brand did you use? I’m looking into it for my girl but am beyond lost. Obviously, anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer are my goals. It’s unknown whether or not my little one has lymphoma- I’ve had one vet (her regular vet) say yes, and to euthanize immediately, (which I’m extremely glad I did not do)...as I’ve had 3 other vets say no, they feel it’s heart related...they don’t see cancer at all, and the radiologist feels it’s pneumonia, with the possibility of cardiomyopathy causing the fluid retention. (But again, radiologist also does not see cancer, but noted mild cardiomyopathy in the report).
In any event, there are a lot of medical studies out there on mice (for people) that have shown high doses of CBD *can* be cancer-curative...seeing as a simple ingredient oil can’t do any harm to my knowledge, I want to find out what others have used.
Thanks!

Hi fuzzysmama, I ordered the CBD oil from Pet Releaf. At the time when I ordered, they had a CBD oil specifically for cats that used salmon oil as a base. I just looked at their site and it seems they've switched to pollock oil, which is probably fine. I mixed a drop with Claudius's regular oil. Unfortunately, 3 months after the radiation therapy we had to put him to sleep. The radiation therapy did a great job shrinking the tumor in his chest, but the cancer had spread and it was too much. I mainly used the CBD to try to help any pain issues he might have been having. I hope someone is able to figure out what is wrong with your little girl! You could try to have your vet consult with the WSU Vet teaching hospital vth.vetmed.wsu.edu/ , even sending the x-rays might give another opinion on what's wrong with her.
