Grimm, my ferret baby, two years old has recently started throwing up mucous. Coughing, sneezing and then throwing up. I know it's coming from his lungs because you can hear it rattle sometimes when he breathes. He is active, eating, drinking, playful. But losing weight. What can I do? I do not have an exotic pet vet near me. The vets I have spoken to told me to keep him fed and hydrated. I need advice. Is there anything i can do for him? Any otc's?

Gosh, I never had one with respiratory problems. They do not want you to bring him in?

He needs a vet. Ferrets can get respiratory infections and antibiotics usually cure them. If you can tell us where you are we might be able to find a vet for you. I have antibiotics for a ferret that passed a couple months ago. I am in NE Tennessee and I could recommend a couple local to me.
