Right now all I can get is the chicken hearts. I will make sure they get about 4 each per week. Does liver have taurine also? Just curious.

Sorry about that, ;D . You might have to combine the liver with something else for them, and give it over two or three days instead. Some do fine with it, and only have looser tarry stools. Others- not so much! You can also give about 1/2 tsp. pumpkin per ferret with the mix.

Gotcha, I will spread it out in the menu. Am I changing proteins too quickly? Should I offer the same protein two of three meals in a row? I went from game hen to pork to chicken...

As long as you know they can tolerate the protein you are feeding, it's a better idea to do it that way. The only time you really need to slow down is when introducing a new one. Then, I give that one protein for a couple of days to see if any intolerances develop to it. Generally, I do give the same meal in the evening as in the morning, but that's just the way I've set it up for MY convenience ;D I'm quite certain they'd be very happy if I switched it up every meal!

Some just have trouble tolerating it, and if you mix it up, he may do better. Let me know.

Everyone is doing well now. Maisey is looking a bit too thin though (she is the whippet) I always worry about her because the others are so robust and she is like a china doll when I pick her up! She is 697 grams down from 767 on may 1st. She is the pickiest and I still have to pick her up and hold her to eat sometimes, but she doesn't seem to want to eat. She did get a nice belly for the winter, much better than when I got her. (She was on the commercial raw chicken for the winter) Her max weight was 1119 grams. What is you opinion on adding probiotics and enzymes to their meat? I have some of the Marshall's probiotic stuff and Solid Gold Seameal (vitamin and enzyme supplement) I used with my cat awhile back when switching and it worked wonderfully (he has an automatic litterbox so the loose poops were a big problem, the supplements helped him quickly) I just wonder if it improves the absorption of the nutrients.

With Maisey, you really need to be sure she's eating enough. If you aren't, she's going to have to have her the commercial raw back for at least one meal a day to make certain she's getting the nutrition into her. Start slipping some bits of chicken into this to work up to chunks. As for supplements, probio's are good for them. Helps to keep the good gut bacteria going. If you give the seameal, just keep an eye out for increased itchies. It's got flax in it, and some fuzz don't do well with it. They seem to have an allergic reaction that makes them evxtremely itchy How is Boo doing with the liver now? If he's having problems with the beef liver as well, you can add about 1/4 tsp cod liver oil once a week.

Maisey is a tricky one because she goes right to it and starts feasting, then abruptly stops and walks away. She will eat chunks and will eat chicken wings, hungrily, but stops after she eats about 1/4 to 1/2 oz. Her poops are well formed and normal. Some meals she wants nothing to do with her food, and I sit with her. She loves the soupie so I will give that 1x daily until the commercial raw arrives. Her fav soup is chicken thigh meat with heart and eggshell. Boo is doing better with the liver, I noticed a difference with the probiotic added. I was unable to get the beef liver last shopping day. He eats way more than the others!
