No thats fine, it was just the way you worded your last post it sounded like you were refering to an article. I did find some info when I googled it last night. Just to drive me crazy..... i put her back on chicken cause she was refusing to eat anything else, that with the runs i was very concerned.... and of course her poops are now formed. Though some have been on the seedy side, which she has done on occassion before. Sigh

okay so am i understanding this right... it's hard to test for... so the best time to test would logically be when she is having symptoms (runny poops)? that make sense? Right now her poops are well formed though a bit orange, likely too much pumpkin. Her energy is up, and appetite good. so not much for vet too look at / test? I gave her a homeopathic remedy yesterday for worms, so not sure if thats part of the change.

I just wantto add a few things. Firstly about the antibiotics making her poop solid I do remember when Koda was going through his really bad IBD flare up and was on antibios that I was told there are some ingredients in some antibios that actually help to stabilize the poop and make it more solid. Have you tried any probiotics? And/or the "poop protocol?" For the lamb, it is a new protein and thus = poison. Blend it into a soupies wih her normal meats and do like you would for making the switch from kibble to raw, slowly adding more lamb less turkey and then tiny lamb chunks in the lamb soupies, all the way up to lamb chunks. I hope that helps and she starts feeling better soon and that it is NOT giardia! :S

Thank katt. few things... ... yes she was on kefir, but is off now, i'm wondering if that explains some of why her poops are better. What is the poop protocol? I did that with the lamb, she's eating the chicken right now and i've been slowly adding lamb soup to it. She has never eaten chunk anything (little brat) she's not there yet.

Most of my guys cannot tolerate kefir. Supposedly, kefir can be handled by those who are lactose intolerant but .... I've been entirely unsuccessful at using it. One of the problem that happens when you change too many things, you've no idea what change affected what Leave the kefir out for the time being and see what happens. The orange poopies...probably the pumpkin ciao
