So I got some mouse grind from hare today and I can’t seem to get my ferrets to touch it. They act like it is poison. I have never had a problem getting them to eat any new meat except this. Any idea why that would be the case and any tips on getting them to eat it?

Mine wasn't too keen on mouse either. Rats ---yes. My new little guy was the same way. After I complained about him on the forum he made a storyteller out of me. I resorted to even skinning, gutting, and cutting up whole frozen mice when I first introduced them to my ferrets. The trick with one of my protesters was to put salmon oil on it. First I had to get my girl to like salmon oil. With my boy, I just kept putting them out there for him. Do try some salmon oil and later you may not have to do it at all. You can also resort to mixing a small amount into a favourite meat. Over time increase the amount you are slipping in.

Thanks! I did try to start mixing with their boneless meat meals and they seem to be eating some of it. So I am hoping to progress from there to having them eat just the grind and then maybe while mice one day.
