I gave my male 2 mice this morning for breakfast. He is not too fond of them. Should I let him tough it out or offer him something else? He has lost some weight being on raw. This is his first year on raw---craigslist boy.

What do you normally feed? It's in the summer? Weight loss is common. Has he had a good meal prior to the mice? My guys get to keep the food they're not fond of, especially prey for about 24 hrs which is until their next meal. I also only feed one at a time when they're not fond of something. Casanova went through a period where he didn't think mice were so great. I told him that's what was on the menu, but he's young, strong and I know his history. He also looses a good pound during the summer no matter what I feed him. He turns into a butterball in the fall though ciao

Read more: holisticferret60.proboards.com/thread/24523/ur-ferret-fond-mice?page=1#ixzz5Ku6Z9vGuI do a mix of frankenprey and whole prey and feed twice a day. It is summer here. I guess I am use to my females who have little guts that show they are hearty eaters. Hahaha---he found some left over quail for breakfast. I did break down and gave him some pork for late, late lunch. I give him two mice because the litle brat will eat just a piece when I give him one. Trying to make sure he gets a full meal by letting him eat two favorite pieces But I will leave the mice in his cage overnight. He does like eating at night---will see how that goes.
