So one year ago I got my first ferret ever. As long as I could remember I have always wanted one, but never got one, and was so happy. This little fur baby has brought so much joy to my life it is not funny. Well see as it was the one year anniversary, I thought what harm could it do to get her a play mate I had always heard that ferrets like friends. Now here is how medusa lives. I have three cats, who treat her like one of the family they play with her clean her, and share their toys with her. When I am awake she is allowed to go in and out of her cadge as she pleases, and is well littler trained. Not only does she use her own littler, but will use the cat box. Now about a week ago I got her her room mate, named bandit. The two of them hit it off rather well I was quite shocked. I was rather worried how it would go. I bought bandit her own cadge, and just put the two close but in a few hours they were friends. Now here is the part where I am worried that I messed up. Up until this point medusa was very playful loved to come out and run around and play with me and her kitty friends all the time. If i forgot to let her out she would grab the bars on her cadge and almost tare the place apart. Now she just cuddles with her new roommate all day, and sleeps most of the time. When she does come out she doesn't play with any of her toys or me. She could care less about her kitty friends, and is up her new roommates butt 24/7. Did I mess up or am I just jealous of the new baby.

She's probably just enjoying her new friend, might be getting worn out faster by playing with someone up to her speed. Maybe try something all 3 of you can do together. My ferrets like it when I gently flap a sheet or a blanket up and down. And we all kind of play that way.
Also I'm not sure what litter you use for the cats but clumping kitty litter is bad for ferrets.

Are these 2 little ones playing a lot together or are they just sleeping? IF they're just sleeping this isn't normal and needs to be addressed. ciao
