I have a Jill who is very near her due date I just wondered are there any signs I should look for with impending labour. Obviously in people we have mucus plugs ect so I wondered what the signs were in ferrets. She's had a tiny amount of green stringy mucus but only a cm long at most. She's still eating albeit not much and she's happy for me to handle her, she hasn't made an obvious nest however she is sleeping a lot more. Also she only has 5 nipples... Does this relate to kit numbers... Sorry!!

No to the kit numbers. Sounds like kits are pending but when is she actually due. This is almost as important as knowing the signs. I had one wee jill start to deliver on my lap. The other snoozed while having minor contractions. All my jills have been very good at being the day before or on the 42nd day. ciao
