Can chicks be considered a muscle meal?

Considering the amount of meat on them, probably not. Personally I'd class them as a supplement due to the high vitamin content in the yolk sack

Thanks Posiedon. I do gut the lower half of the chick because of this yellow stuff. I do not know what it is--thinking it is bile or something. Do you have a clue?

The yellow stuff the yolk sack, it runs everywhere if it bursts, they say to remove it because if you feed your ferrets chicks often, you could end up giving them too much of the vitamins, although I don't cut them out. Mainly because I don't feed them chicks often, they have them every now and then with the yolk sack still intact so they get the vitamins that are in it.

Feed the whole thing. There isn't enough nutritional value in the chick to be considered a meal but they're great treats or they can be used as the occasional meal. As you're feeding basically the chick and the yolk then treat it like an eggie meal

I feed the whole thing as well, but as a snack.
