Early in this thread Usagi’s weight was 926g, now it’s 876g. That’s only a difference of ~2.6oz. While it’s not nothing, it’s not a ton either and we are now entering the depth of summer so a weight drop isn’t necessarily abnormal. Updated pics will help but it sounds like they are both eating really well, and if he’s acting, playing, and pooping normally that is all very reassuring.

That is reassuring. Also I just wanted to add that their "soup" has been mostly slivers now that we're up to green bean sized slivers and at around 10 a time at least 2oz of the meal is just the slivers and then maybe 1.5oz is the soup. I was wondering if it was worth thickening the soup? Or if we should just keep increasing the slivers with the soup until hopefully they wont need any soup?

I suggest continuing to increase the sliver size and start including slivers of liver and heart as well as the other organs you use in your soup. Top these meats with a gravy of soup.

Is there a way to tell how much to add of the organs without throwing off their balance? Maybe I should start leaning towards following the basic franken pray menu?

For the short period of time (hopefully) adding in heart or liver pieces won’t hurt them. Getting them to accept other pieces and types of meat is the goal. The menu is more for a week. So if you give soup a total of 1/2 all week then we half the other things, too. Does that makes sense?

Last night I gave them 10 green bean sized slivers and this afternoon I went up a little so I gave them 8 instead of 10. They ate them all.
Think I get it. So tonight is a wildcard, 4 thin slivers of chicken heart, 2 thin slivers of chicken liver, 6 thin slivers of pork, and 6 AA batteryish sized slivers of chicken thigh, and then about 1oz of gravy/soup. All ends up to be 3.5oz of food as usual. I divided it all into 2 bowls so there's the same amount of each thing in each bowl. When I put the food down they checked it out but walked away so we'll see how it goes in the morning.

Final verdict on last night. Looks like they ate combined 3 out of 4 thin slivers of chicken heart, all the thin slivers of chicken liver, maybe 5 out of 6 thin slivers of pork, and 6 out of 6 AA batteryish sized slivers of chicken thigh. They both but especially Akira shes been dooking all morning seem very high energy today but they also didn't seem to thrilled about bed time last night either. I also noticed they have been stashing a bit more meat than I thought but I always see them munching on it throughout the day and running around with chunks in their mouth so I assume its still getting eaten either way. They fought over one piece last night to my surprise. Maybe it's fun? Well I just saw akira run out the cage with a sliver of pork in her mouth so I guess she likes it. Lol
I left out the 2 leftover slivers from last night as well as 2 fresh bowls with the same amount as last night. Akira has already begun stashing.. but I also hear munching.

Wonderful to hear!! Ferret happy dance shall commence! What does the place look like where you place their food? I have found that my two feeding dens help 100% with stashing. They only tend to stash the random chicken bone. I also have found that placing their feeding dens at the top most shelf of the cage has helped with less stashing.

So cute! I used to have a similar set up but instead of at the top I now eat them in the middle, Akira love to hang half way out the hammock and eat lol. But they don't stash in the cage either which is where I feed them, I feed with the door open in the afternoon and door closed depending on the time at night. During the afternoon is when they stash and that would be in the box kingdom aka my "dinning room" in which I have nothing but cardboard boxes that I never put away after moving I don't mind them stashing I just hope they are eating it all.

LOL Box kingdom! Love it. We have kind of a box pile in the ferret room, with blankets and jeans and tunnels to add to the mix. We do find the occasional stash but it is never much -- I know they go back and eat their ferret jerky, those little stinkers. So happy your two are enjoying the different meats.

I am glad too I was worried they would hate everything, but this afternoon they only ate half of their food. I'm going to leave it over night and give them a little less new food. If they don't touch the left overs i'll give them extra in the afternoon.
So tonight 2 thin slivers of chicken heart, 2 thin slivers of chicken liver, 4 thin slivers of pork, and 4 AA battery sized slivers of chicken thigh, and then about 1oz of gravy/soup. All ends up to be 2.5oz, I divided it all into 2 bowls so there's the same amount of each thing in each bowl.

Stools are slightly wet 6. Activity levels: Active play day 7. Weekly menu:
Monday: raw soup, green bean size slivers Tuesday: raw soup, green bean and AA battery size slivers Wednesday: raw soup, thin slivers of chicken heart, thin slivers of chicken liver, thin slivers of pork, and AA battery sized slivers of chicken thigh

They didn't touch the left overs and just ate the fresh food. This afternoon i'm giving a little extra to make up for last night 4 thin slivers of chicken heart, 2 thin slivers of chicken liver, 6 thin slivers of pork, and 4 AA battery sized slivers of chicken thigh, and then about 2oz of gravy/soup. All ends up to be 4oz, I divided it all into 2 bowls so there's the same amount of each thing in each bowl.
