You are doing great! Keep an eye on the larger size. They have an idea of grab, pull, and chew off a chuck from the slivers. As the pieces get bigger they have to work a bit more. It isn't uncommon to grab a chunk and take it somewhere to work on it.

(Friday) My scale died so I kind have been eye balling things till I can find the right batteries. They ate everything in the afternoon but I only had 6 of the regular slivers and then for tonight I might have cut the new slivers too big but I gave them 5 to start with.

With the larger slivers they barley ate anything last night, one bowl still has slivers in it and the other bowl is full of soup and slivers. I'm going to wait a bit longer and see if they eat it but i'm unsure.

Keep in mind that new stage is like another mini-“switch” all by itself. They have to figure out this newfangled thing in their bowl. lol You’re doing great.

Well it took all day but they did end up eating everything without my help I'm surprised actually. So overall they didn't eat as much as usual today but yesterday was an off routine day so maybe tomorrow will be better for them.

Yep today is off to a much better start last night they ate all 5 slivers of the larger size. I'm going to give them 8 this afternoon. Also last night I don't know how or when but apparently when they were finished eating they stacked their bowls o.0. I use the kind that attach to the sides and you can lock them but I haven't really been locking them besides the water because they don't usually move them but when I checked on them this morning they managed to move one of the bowls out of the slot and then stack it perfectly on top of the other food bowl. Must have been yummy if their helping me with the dishes.

Hi Raven, just letting you know that mermaidsirena is having a little bit of trouble getting onto the forum right now, but she is trying to get it resolved though.

LOL Too funny with the stacked bowls! That’s great that they took the slivers without your help. Keep increasing the number of slivers in the dish every meal or two as long as they are continuing to accept them. When they get to a point where they are unsure we can pause for a few meals and let them catch up. Mermaidsirena is having some computer issues so she’ll br unable to post while she figures that out. I’ll be here still though.

Last night they ate everything, this afternoon they left a little bit of soup and ate 4 out of the 8 slivers. Tonight i'm going to leave them their left overs and 3.5 oz of soup with 4 slivers. Guess my scale came back alive i'm still going to get more batteries when I can.

Hey, Raven! So sorry. I ended up needing a new router. It was blocking from all sorts of sites. Happy to hear the girls are doing great with larger slivers. And that is too funny about stacking the bowls. My two only seem to topple over their feeding den into a litter box when they are done. I take it as I didn't give them enough since they never do it when there is still a bit of food in there.
Check out that menu - soup, soup, soup!! Way to go. You can also add in slivers to that menu. As you go you might also find that making it less 'soupy' helps. Our soup went from to an applesauce consistency. Either way, you are going great.

Welcome back I hope getting set back up wasn't too stressful. The bowl thing was like finding a crop circle so bizarre lol.
So last night they still had some food left I waited a bit before cleaning it up and they did eat more but there was still about an ounce left including four slivers out of technically 8. This afternoon I made a new batch of soup with chicken livers since I was out of beef, 3.5 oz including 5 sliver. Think once they get used to this thickness of slivers i'll try to soup.

They had some soup left over and didn't eat any of the slivers from this afternoon. I gave them a new batch for tonight with 5 slivers.

Let's stick with this change for now. Try tempting them with handfeeding if you still see no slivers eaten. They might also be full of soup and not wanting to work as hard. Soup is easy to eat.
