Hello, as I've mentioned in another thread I've rescued a 4 year old boy about a day and a half ago. He had his first vet checkup with me but unfortunately my regular vet ended up being sick so I had her apprentice. I found this strange rash on Max's chin/mouth area but it didn't seem crusty so I figured it was possibly just an allergic reaction. After futher/closer inspection I noticed this rash is also around his feet and seem a little more crusted. I showed the vet but he didn't seem to dwell on it as he said it "wasn't bothering Max so it's probably minor". I know the foster parents he was with before I adopted him were washing his bedding in scented detergent with added febreeze so I'm hoping it's just an allergic reaction to his old detergent which I have already recleaned all his bedding yesterday in my scent free detergent. Everytime I google anything about this rash I get plenty of web answers pointing toward distemper.. There's no group I trust more with advice/tips than this forum so I wanted to get your guys' opinions. I will provide the best pictures I could get while he was passed out today shortly after his vet visit. Thank you for your time.

Thank you for the link, Sherry! I read through it all and Max doesn’t seem to have any other symptoms of distemper. I haven’t noticed any eye discharge and he’s very adventurous around the house as well as cuddly. Would it be safe to rule out distemper at this point and just keep an eye on him with his new environment? (Which I would obviously do anyway). Thank you again, it means a lot.

I think you could rule it out, yes
