Hello other humans with ferrets! 2 of my jills are pregnant, 1 is due tomorrow onwards and the other isn't due until next month, and all kits are spoken for already, 19 people have enquired and are waiting to reserve kits so shouldn't have any trouble finding them homes. Although I usually don't, just thought I'd have a waiting list this year, and the kits will be going with a contract to make sure they come back to me if the new owners can't keep them later on down the line. Anyway, the more heavily pregnant one has become a bit of a fussy eater in the last couple of weeks so she's on a diet of meat grinds (ranging meats though), chicks, rats and mice so been trying to keep her diet balanced has been more of a challenge since the things I've mentioned are the only things she's wanting to eat, but I think I've managed her diet okay because she's happy and bright eyed, she dooks at me to greet me <3 And my other pregnant jill is still eating normally at the moment so she is still eating what's in my normal menu which is posted on a different thread.
All my others girls have been mated to my vasectomised hob and this is the first year I've used a vasectomised hob on the jills I've not been wanting to breed from, I'm pleased with the results, so far no kits from the other jills and they all look a lot healthier than last year when they were jill jabbed, already grown their summer coats. Took forever last year to grow them last year, they didn't grow them until gone June. So I support the vasectomised hob method of keeping entire jills and not breeding from them.

And obviously the vet did a good job, or you'd have a LOT more kits on the ground

Update, I'm very pleased to say she delivered 10 healthy kits in the early hour of yesterday morning, and I think she's happy with being a mother too, very attentive but still friendly with me giving her a quick fuss while she's in the nest. Let me count her babies too without any issues yesterday afternoon. Checked first thing this morning too, all still there and active And not only did the vet do a good job Sherry but it didn't cost much either only costed £50

I bet it's to far for me to travel
