Odd little snooter, LOL. Do either of them like Salmon Oil? I would've suggested a drizzle of raw egg over the food to help encourage eating from the bowl, but since Usagi refused it today, I don't know if she'd accept it as encouragement. Maybe a little drizzle of salmon oil instead?

LindaM Usgai is something I want to say snooty but maybe that's not it either lol super sweet and gentle but very stubborn when her mind is made up even if it doesn't match how she felt yesterday. They both really like salmon oil, I did try to mix some salmon oil with the raw soup once but it didn't really work. But I think i'll try that again now that she has more of a taste for the raw soup. I'll add some egg to the soup for Akira she loves egg apparently I would have last night but I wasn't sure if mixing the two was okay. I'll post how it goes.

Instead of mixing it in, I might just drizzle it over the top and see if it gets them licking at it. They should see and smell it easily. I've had a bit more success with that than mixing, though let me know if one of them gets smart and ONLY does the oil.

Today was a bit of a back track. I drizzled on top egg for Akira and Salmon oil for Usagi this time. Akira started eating from the bowl right away but walked away about half way through 1 tablespoonish so I had to guide her through the rest. Usagi still fought and I had to basically spoon feed her but with the bowl and even then she was still trying to move herself so that she would mostly get salmon oil more than the food. They both ultimately had about 2 tablespoons but I had to guide them through most of it. Akira also took one sniff and lick from the bowl I left out for them but then waddled into bed.
But after that they just wanted nothing to do with the soup and relentless fighting with the spoon without the spoon with egg/salmon without egg/salmon they just weren't having it. So over all they ate less soup than they have been so far. I figured today might have been stressful for them so I didn't weigh and do photos as planned, I will tomorrow. I also wasn't planning on giving Akira so much egg this week but she ate up what I was trying to give Usagi because it got spilled lol so probably no more egg for Akira for a little. better luck tomorrow.

Don't worry about doing photos or weights daily. Pick a day of the week and do all that just once a week. Less stress on you and on them.
I'm sorry to hear the little stinkers back-tracked. What protein are you currently giving them? Chicken? How long have they been getting that specific soupie for?

LindaM Oh awesome. I started the soup on may 2 so a little over a week. I've been following the raw soup recipe listed in the intro to raw: 8oz raw chicken thigh 1oz raw chicken liver 1oz raw chicken heart 1/2 tsp bone meal (i'm using "NOW Bone Meal" brand)

You mentioned before that they were okay eating a little bit of slivers included in the soup? Have you tried offering them just a bit of slivers yet to see what they do?

LindaM Only in the soup not alone if it's small and kind of mushy between 1-2 lego size they will generally eat it. Any larger like a 3 they kinda just lap at it and move on. I'll finely chop some chicken without the soup and see what they think I have a hunch they wont go for it because it still takes a bit of poking with the spoon to get them started but no harm in trying.

Give it a go and see how they do. You can drizzle a little soup over it as incentive too. They may be a little tired with the texture, or even the protein, but I'd like to see if maybe they'd give the tiny slivers a go first. If it works out that they take to that, then you can slowly add in a few larger slivers moving forward.
And they are getting kibble only at night right now, correct?

I tried to give them some various sizes of chopped chicken wing (not the bone just the meat and skin but they wouldn't eat it, some of the bigger bits they would kind of nibble but then spit out. I did how ever get them to eat more of the soup than yesterday and they will eat the smaller sliver in the soup, the consistency of the soup is kind of pudding like at this point. Akria does seem a bit more willing to try bigger bits but I haven't been able to get her to really eat it yet. Both ate maybe 1 tablespoon from the bowl but then I had to spoon feed the rest and neither went for the food I left out for a few hours.

Usagi ate maybe 1-2 tablespoons from the bowl after I lead her into the bowl with the spoon and then I had to spoon feed her the rest of the day. She eats the small slivers that are in the soup and when she happens to get a bigger sliver like a 3 or more she runs across the room with it and spits it out I guess she's trying to stash it? Akira ate maybe half a table spoon in the bowl and the rest I had to spoon feed. She's been doing this thing where she keep trying to lick the edge of the bowl with nothing on it, the empty edge of the spoon, the floor anything but the actual food. Neither will eat a sliver without the soup yet. And no willingness to eat the soup freely yet.

I made a new batch of soup I used very little water about 1/4 cup and left different sized slivers in it: 8oz raw chicken thigh 1oz raw beef liver 1oz raw chicken heart 1/2 tsp bone meal (i'm using "NOW Bone Meal" brand)
They arn't loving the bigger slivers right now but they are attempting them only if they are in the "soup". I was wondering if I could swap the chicken thigh with ground beef next time just to give them more of a different flavor while they are still in the soup stage. They seem to like it with the beef liver but I only gave them a taste as they were half asleep, we'll see if that holds true after their nap. I was also wondering if I should take away their kibble? They aren't exactly eating it willingly at this point but they are eating so I wonder if they would show less resistance if they knew they weren't going to have kibble any more? But they are also 6 months now so i'm not sure if that's too young since kits eat more.

When I tried to feed them after their nap both were really flighty especially Akira so today they ate less than usual it is a newish flavor and much thicker than usual though so maybe tomorrow will be better.

still flighty, not eating from the bowl. They have been eating bigger slivers and the soup is pretty thick.
