My girl Sami hadn't pooped much the day before yesterday so I'd been trying to keep a close eye on her. Yesterday after I got home from work I was watching them to see if she would poop which I never saw so I gave her some ferret lax, didn't have any pumpkin so i need to go buy more. Then this morning I pulled out the litter box to find these which I assume came from her and not her sister. ibb.co/bvXUUxibb.co/cmnrbcMy ferrets are on the kibble the breeder was giving them because sami's stomach cant handle the switches I've tried. Anyways the color freaked me out but I don't know what it means. Then more pale green poop was a bit more solid and had silver more solid mucus, she has these sometimes I think to pass hairs, but it's never been green before. The other poop was green and yellowish (not neon) and was mostly mucus. It is worth noting that she did have a small but regular brown poop this morning. I'm worried but I have college exams today and cant stay to watch her. Does this look serious or is it probably just a kibble related issue?

I have only dealt with ECE once, and I knew what it was right away. It was bright green and slimy, no form really. I can't say I've seen anything like that. If it persists another day you should take a sample to the vet.

When switching kibble to another kibble( hopefully one with less carbs and no peas). You add just a little new stuff with the old and increase the new over time(a slow process). The info provided at this site say it can take up to 2 mos. Here is the site about swiitching kibbles and info if ferret is not cooperating. Forum does not recommend using ferretone because it has additives that can cause cancer (preservatives). Ignore that part. www.drsfostersmith.com/pic/article.cfm?aid=2069Also if you were trying to switch to raw, weird poohs are normal. I have had my ferrets get mucousy and smelly poohs and had them on antibiotics before when switching to raw. So make sure you have no rubber toys or anything soft he likes to chew on that he can get to like--- soft grips on ink pens, erasers, and ear plugs (intestinal blockage). If you like to read www.petcha.com/the-complete-scoop-on-ferret-poop/Any condition that causes intestinal hypermotility, or the feces to move faster than the normal four-hour transit time for ferrets, results in incomplete digestion of biliverdin, and green feces. So green feces not necessarily a disease but if continues a vet visit would be good.
