Congrats, Charlie! So proud of you and your little guy. I look forward to hearing the new meats you find for him. And what a wonderful game you and he played with the meat. LOL He's quite a character. Thanks for all your help Mermaidsirena!!! You really helped me a lot!! I'm glad this switch wasn't too difficult. I was fortunate that the girl I got him from was already feeding him some raw. I did find turkey necks!!! I also found some pork riblets which I guess is button bones or whatever it was on the list. lol No luck in the quail though.

Yesterday Charlie got rabbit bone in and beef. H ate all 4 oz. of his food yesterday! Today for his breakfast meal I'm trying park riblets! He already ate 1 little piece! Those bones are big and flat. I had to chop them up into small pieces. So I'll see if it's all gone by tonight.

Chances are your guys won't be able to deal with the pork bones. You can use that as a meat only meal though. I usually smash up my turkey bones as they can be very hard too, but again it depends on the size of the turkeys. You do have some leeway as you have 9 bone in meals, so if they only ate the meat off of the pork bone then you still might have enough depending on your ferrets. Your diversity is growing. Keep at it great work ciao

I am finding that he isn't eating all his food right now. Usually I'm giving him 2oz in the morning and evening but he's been only eating about 2 oz total a day the last few days.

That's great about the pork and yes, pork riblets do work. It's just so rare I see them any more I didn't even think of them. That's not a lot of food.. how old is he? For an adult male he should be eating about 3 oz. That being said I don't think my Mayhem is eating that but then he looks horrible by the end of the rut...consider him too distracted to eat ciao

I still chop up the bones a bit for him. No he isn't eating a lot right now. He's 7 1/2 months right now. I put in 2 oz. in the AM and he doesn't eat it all by the PM so I just put it back in for him and add some of the next meal but the last couple of days he hasn't eaten it all. He usually eats close to 4 oz a day. He may be distracted and wants to come out of his cage. He did throw up today. He threw up some of his rabbit he ate. And I know he loves rabbit because he ate all of it before.

Good evening! Sorry I have been MIA for a bit. The flu got a hold of me and I was down for the count for most detailed thinking.
Sorry to hear he threw up his rabbit. Is he still playful when out and about? How much time does he usually spend out of his cage?

What is his output too.....stools normal? The fact that he threw up and is not eating would be a concern ciao

Is he still playful when out and about? How much time does he usually spend out of his cage? Oh sorry to hear you had the flu! Hope you are feeling better now! Yes, he has still been playful and getting into everything now! And trying to escape from his cage even! Still dooking quite a bit when out with me! Last couple days he hasn't been out enough. It seems this guy doesn't sleep! And if I'm not paying attention to him when I'm in his room supervising him (because he's now climbing up on everything and knocking stuff down - I have to ferret proof more now) he's all over me and trying to get my attention. Lol He only threw up that one time.

What is his output too.....stools normal? The fact that he threw up and is not eating would be a concern ciao Stool looked a little stringy one time and a couple times runny because not enough bone, but now he's going real well, solid and formed! Looks like enough bone! He is eating but not his normal amount that he usually does. Yesterday was better and ate most of his food, which was nice to see! He definitely likes certain meats!

Should I be concerned if Charlie doesn't eat all his food? I measured yesterdays food and he only ate 2 1/4 oz. of the 4 oz. I gave to him. He has solid stools and is still very active and finding ways to get into more trouble. lol He's still dooking a lot when I'm in his room with him and petting and smooching him. Yes, I love my ferret!!! lol

How much does Charlie weigh, now? Do you have a scale which does grams?
Mine did not sleep much until he got a buddy to play with. Now they wear each other out and I mostly just watch the fun. I haven't been with them much this past week as I am still not doing well. Fever is gone but the cough and my throat are driving me crazy as well as not sleeping much. I will be glad when it finishes.

Yeah, that's understandable. You don't want to get them sick either. Hope you get better quick, it's not fun being sick and not feeling well. I'll weigh Charlie and see what he weighs. He was over the 1400 gram range last time I weighed him, which was around 3 lbs 1 oz. At the vet he was 3 lbs and 2 oz. so he was down 1 oz. but I'll check again. That might have been a 1-2 weeks ago? He's down for the night so I'll weigh him in the morning. Today he was out a lot longer. I even took him outside on his leash and he ran around for a bit too. He had at least 4 hours minimum out today. And tomorrow will be the same, lots of time out.

Ok so weighed Charlie and he is around 1331 grams. He was over 1400 before. His stool was a bit runny today because of the heart meal last night.
