I am stressing out a little bit... I have taken away the kibble and tried the ferrets on some straight meat (usually they have meat alongside their kibble a couple of times a week) however it seems they aren’t scoffing it down as they appeared to before - although I wasn’t weighing what they were given before so I can’t be sure.
It wasn’t anything wildly different to what they have had before, chicken necks chopped up into smaller segments. But they only ate about 30g since last night!?
Advice? I am thinking maybe I should try blitzing them a bit to make them finer?
Also, I weighed and photographed both of my carpet sharks last night to keep track of their progress. And my girl who has always been super small (like “I can’t believe she could ever have had a litter” small) only weighs like 594g! Is that super small or normal?

If they know it is food they *should* be okay for a bit. How old are they and how many do you have? Are you certain ALL of them know raw is food? As in have you seen each and every one of them consume the raw, and how much? As for size, I have had 3 females who averaged 500-600 grams.

Thank goddess about the size thing I’ve always thought she was just super tiny! I have got 2 a boy and girl (desexed). I have seen them both eat quails (whole) and raw meat before usually off cuts of beef, mince or chicken necks. I can’t be sure how much each time but just the other day I gave them about 80g or beef meat (no bone) and they finished that, leaving the kibble that was in the bowl in like 8hours.

I think I would try just the meat then, and leave the kibble out of the equation entirely

Winner!! I just heard that my babies ate all 85g of their overnight meal!! Woot woot chicken necks are go!
Can you give any advice on other bone in options that aren’t chicken? I did pick up some lamb riblets but I think they’re too big/dense for them to break and eat. Turkey isn’t a big thing here... other ideas?
