Sorry if this is somewhere else I am new to the whole forum thing so not great at navigating I am just wondering what the rational behind the soup stage of a transition is? Just wondering because at present I supplement by ferrets kibble with meats (chicken, beef, pork) the odd liver t chicken heart and whole quails. Is it still best practice to start on the soup?

If your ferrets are already eating raw meat, you can skip the soup stage. For a ferret that's never eaten raw meat, it's usually easier to start with soup because then they get used to the taste without having to deal with the chewing and the different texture. That's great that your ferrets are already eating raw meat! All you need to do now is make sure you're balancing their meals correctly.

Awesome! Thanks so much for the reply. So I guess it’s just a case of dialling back the kibble and going to a more balanced diet like following the Frankenprey guide on here. Sound about right?
Thanks again!

If they already accept raw ditch the kibble entirely. No need for it. You can I troducr new proteins with raw by cutting and mixing slivers of a new one mixed into a favourite.

Yea. I think it’s lucky that when I first got my babies that this forum was one of the first things that popped up in regards to diet so I always knew that this was the best option but fell into the convenience of kibble (which they had also already been getting at the RSPCA). Because of that I always tried to give them meat and quails and what not as well so YAY! HAHA I did something right Now time for the full switch!
