OMG I love these little birds! The girls took to them right away (must take a lot like chicken). They are so easy to cut (bones separate easily). I found them on sale for 1.99 $/lb, which is a good price to me PLUS both the CGH and the whole chicken are from Perdue so no arsenic risks #woot# Question - how big are CGH and chicken kidneys?

Very small! The chicken ones are about the size of a Canadian nickel, attached to the back of the chicken, either side of the spine. CGH would obviously be that much smaller.

I like CGH too but they are kind of pricey, $3.99 for 24 ounce one, but sometimes they go on sale for $2.50 each or 2/$4 and I stock up, they haven't been on sale in forever though! I just chopped one up today, make a couple meals for the ferrets and a couple for the cat so they are nice for that and yes they are so easy to chop! I got a duck during my shopping too and that sucker was work to get through.

Oh mine don't come with any organs though, but the duck did!

1.99 lb is a good price (did you stock up?) Mine LOVE CGH! I usually pay $7.99 for a two pack!

I am going to get some more today hoping they have a couple left I try to keep all meat prices under $2/lb which allows me do splurge on more expensive foods every now and then. Plus I had coupons for my whole purchase so I paid $0.32 out of pocket for them

That' Calgary agreed! It's frustrating! My girls LOVE their CGH's but the cheapest you can find one for is a singular frozen one for $5 (and it's always the tiniest one they have). They are great because they do last a few meals and they do have some organ. Yepp - those little tiny things are the kidneys, they're so cute! ;D I just really wish they sold fresh ones that weren't frozen, so that I could split them up into meals and freeze them, because I find the most they stay fresh in the fridge after being defrosted is 3 days and then they start smelling funky. Also wish we got the prices you found, even the $5 for a small one per week is starting to add up

I thought that sounded goog, so I just went to the store and bought one for them for dinner as a treat. I just hope that it thaws before dinner time

I thaw them out and refreeze, they don't even have to fully thaw, I find it's easier and less messy when they are still partially frozen. All my online meat (organs and stuff) comes frozen in too large of pieces so a lot of my stuff gets thawed, bagged and re-frozen.

Mine were from Perdue and we not frozen when I bought them. I portioned them out into 7 oz baggies (two meals). The two hens made about 5-6 baggies, which means about 10-12 meals.
Shelia, I hope your kids like them! Mine did! Plus, the whole thing is edible, no need to crush the bones or anything!
