So we went to the vet yesterday. Tito definitely has eggs... a LOT of them. The vet said she needs surgery because she has too many. I am not 100% sure if VPI will cover it or not because she it not Technically egg bound yet. But to just wait until she does become egg bound would be risky at best. We got exam, blood work and X-/rays for $230 AFTER Pet Assure. The vet submitted the VPI insurance claim form as "possible eggbinding." I am REALLY anxious to see if they will cover it or not. If not I don't know what will happen. After paying the SD on the new house, plus the rent increase, and car repairs....I don't know if I can afford her surgery if they won't cover it. Even if they do, it sounds like they might only cover up to a few hundred dollars worth. We will see... I got some cool pictures out of it though! The opaque white circles on either side of her belly are the eggs Cloe up of her head Eggs Inverse - It was actually much cooler and very clear, but the picture didn't come out well... The Monster causing all of the stress...

Anyways, I am just praying that the VPI claim goes through okay, and that they will cover yesterday's visit AND the surgery. Please keep your fingers crossed for us!

Oh poor Tito! It's hard to believe that she can hold so many eggs, doesnt look like there is even room for any organs in there. Poor girl, I hope VPI will pay to get her out of this situation.

It is not painful. Yet. But you are correct - there's no room for organs, so she is unable to eat a full meal.

Good luck, katt! Fingers crossed for both Tito, and for VPI covering a good portion of the expense.

Keeping you and beautiful Tito in mind. Oh man, those X-Rays are really neat, though I am sorry they're in such trying circumstances. I've never seen an x-ray of an iguana with eggs! She truly is beautiful. I am hoping, praying, wishing and crossing my fingers that the insurance covers it!

A healing and a finance candle is lit for Tito. Poor wee thing, that can't be comfortable even if it's not painful. Good luck ciao
