Momo has always chosen people play over ferret play but ever since he's gotten his superlorin implant, he really seems to dislike rough-housing with his brother. He usually follows me and my roommate around, stopping wherever the feet stop to lay on his back and observe the human. This leaves Appa tugging on Momo's ear to get him to play but this just seems to annoy Momo to the point of hissing. (which I'm extremely glad to announce that Appa's spunky self is back 100% after the anesthesia scare we had recently!) I feel bad for Appa because he has so much energy that I'm wondering if I should adopt a middle age/older ferret to entertain him. I worry though that 3 being an odd number might make Momo feel left out. Or even worse, this new ferret might not want to play either! I also thought about having a pair of kits around for guaranteed hyper-filled days but just thinking about it sounds like a lot of work. I also wouldn't want to bring any new animal into my home and have to unfortunately bring them back from the boys disapproval. With Momo contently being a grandpa, I'm afraid I'd drop an unwanted load on him. We've tried new toys and even extended their room but it seems like the more I give Appa, the more he wants! He even rattles the baby gate that's nestled on the doorgrame when he wants to be let out!

Sometimes that works-sometimes it doesn't. What happens if Appa absolutely loves the newcomer and Momo hates him? Are you prepared for 2 separate playtimes?

Oh, I didn’t even think of that.. Momo just sleeps most of the day away if no human is around. If I have another ferret for appa and take Momo on errand runs with me, is that too much of a fantasy or could it work? I also failed to think about vet costs. Supplies wouldn’t be too much but an older ferret would come with unknown history. ..
