A couple weeks ago I started doing the elimination diet for my 4 1/2 year old girl Sly. Her symptoms were occasional periods of extremely mucousy diarrhea followed by periods of normal bowel movements.
On 1/7 she had chicken and had extremely mucousy diarrhea so I decided to start the elimination diet with pork instead. It seemed to take her a few days to go back to normal after the chicken.
So far my results are:
1/8 Pork: she still had diarrhea but it wasn’t quite as bad as the previous days.
1/9 Pork - one BM that was half mucousy and half normal, the rest were normal
1/10 Pork - exact same as 1/9
1/11 Pork - one very liquidy mucousy BM, the rest were normal
1/12 Pork - everything looked very good, solid and no diarrhea
1/13 Pork - everything still looked good!
1/14 Pork - everything still looked good!
1/15 Pork w/ 25% rabbit - everything still looking good!
1/16 Pork w/ 40% rabbit - everything is looking good!!
1/17 Pork w/ 60% rabbit - one mucousy BM that is formed. Not runny just mucousy.
1/18 Pork w/ 80% rabbit - Everything was normal and solid
1/19 Rabbit - everything was good
1/20 rabbit - everything was good
1/21 rabbit - 1 really bad mucousy diarrhea, everything else was normal
I’m not really sure how to interpret these results so far... Pork seemed to work good for her and I think the initial couple bad BMS may have just been a result of the chicken she had before but I’m not sure. I’m really not sure about her results with rabbit either. She was doing great the first couple days but has had a couple off poops since. Should I be considering rabbit as an irritant at this point and going back to Pork? I’m not sure what to do here since the poops were good at first and not consistently bad.
I really need help with this. I’m trying to see if her IBD can be managed with diet otherwise she will have to go on pred and I would like to avoid that medicine for as long as possible. Thanks in advance!!
