So I adopted Einstein three days ago from a ferret rescue. He's around 8-9 months old and very large. At the rescue, he was playing with his sister in a playpen and always used his litter box. Aside from one accident (he didn't know where the litter box was yet) he has been using the litter box in his cage. I've been letting him and his sister free roam for about four hours each day and while I'm always in the room, I don't watch their every move. Today I noticed there are little pee spots all around the room. I never saw this happen and I didn't see it until I opened the blinds this morning. Not very much pee at all, just spots. They have several litter boxes throughout the room that he uses and I haven't found poop anywhere. Is this normal? Could it be possible something else is going on and he can't control when he pees? Or maybe he drags his belly through his pee in one spot and drags it around the room. I noticed these spots after I was playing with him and felt a little pee on his belly. It appeared as though he dragged his belly through it. I am very concerned.

It could be one of several different things. Best bet would be to have a urinalysis done to rule out UTI.
