So an interesting (annoying) behavior that Craven does, is he only wants what someone else has when they are eating. Put a mouse, quail, chick in front of him, heck put 2-3, he will completely ignore it no matter what to grab everybody else's, bowl of hearts or whatever, same thing, he shares fine when it's a large chunk hanging but everything else he is such a pain! Naturally the others aren't in the least interested in sharing meals and he is of course ferret stubborn and impossible to distract away from this obsession. Now I have the option to lock him in the cage, in the past I would just play ref or take him out to play separately while the others ate.

They'll sort it out. Either he'll get the food and eat first, or they'll beat the crap out of him when they've had enough of his behaviour! Mine get in food fights on a regular basis. I get a kick out of it ;D

The way I see it it's all enrichment for them, it makes life more interesting if they have to work things like fair shares of food out for themselves. (Within reason of course, always making sure nobody is actually missing out too much). Wild polecats don't always manage to catch every single prey animal they go for and sometimes might miss out on first munch at some carrion because another animal got there first. I see things like feeding time skirmishes as some stimulating problem solving for them.
