Thank you, Sherry! I have another question: Do they have to eat pork and veal meat? So far they would not (but I did not push it on them)

They don't have to as long as they are getting enough variety. Something that may help is to sliver up the new meat, and marinate it in with a favourite so they taste similar. Slowly increase new to old meats as they accept it more easily. Basically trick them into eating it.

Thank you! Will try that. So far all is well - they eat, play a lot, hide meat around the house, poop in every corner, and drug Ruby around:)

Hurray - Choco is eating pork! Ruby does not. Not sure about Milky because I was not watching them all day long. I gave them a mix of pork slices and chicken hearts yesterday. They ate all the hearts and some pork.

And that is how you get them to eat a new protein lol. Cut the pork smaller than the other and mix well

Well, that approach worked for kidneys:))) I used to put a slice of kidney in their food bowl for a week or so. One day the boys started eating kidneys "as is". Now I am making kidney soup only for Ruby.

Sounds like things are going well Let's push them a bit so you can get more proteins into their diets.

Like other type of meat? Or different organs? I bought 5 lb of veal lungs. They came with ribs inside (!) Those ribs are as big as my wrist. I doubt that my fur kids are ready for those huge bones.

Nor will they ever be Veal ribs are a bit too dense for them to consume But they will enjoy tearing the meat away. And yes as long as they are not showing any sensitivities let's push them as to size they are eating (how big now BTW? ), as well as variety!

They got a turkey neck yesterday. For breakfast I cut half of it into small slices. For dinner I left the other half "as is". They chewed up all small slices, but could not finish that big chunk - just ripped off the meat. As for chicken bones, they eat up pretty much everything (wings, chest, neck) except bearing bones. They chew off all cartridge from leg bones, though. I give them a whole leg/wing or chest (if it is cornish hen; if not, I cut the chest in 2) They also eat whole hearts and gizzards.

Okay great! Then the biggest thing right now is balance and variety. With the weight bearing bones, or even the drumette in wings, smack them a few times with a heavy knife to break them up a bit exposing the marrow. That will hopefully "trigger" them to start working on those bones. Next time with the turkey neck, try just chopping it into 1/2" slices. If need be cut those in half. Next- a Monday to Sunday menu to check balance Kind of like this: Mon am: Turkey necks Mon pm: heart Tues am: chicken wings Tues pm: pork chunks

Yes, sir! I serve kidney soup on weekends: 3 oz chicken, 2 oz veal kidneys, 3 tbsp half&half, 1 tsp fish oil. I remember what you said - that it should be either chicken, or half&half, but Ruby the Diva would not have it with 2 ingredients only:)
Last Sunday AM: They boys ate kidney soup. Ruby had only 1 tsp. At noon I gave them some chicken dipped in that soup. Last Sunday PM: Chicken for the boys, kidney soup for Ruby since she did not have much for breakfast. She had only only 2 tsp, so I left some chicken gizzards in the cage overnight.
Monday AM:turkey neck Monday PM:turkey neck
Tue AM: chicken legs Tue PM: chicken chest
Today, Wed AM: chicken breast (with that cartridge bone inside)
What else should I give them this week? I have veal kidneys/lungs/steak, chicken gizzards/necks/livers/hearts, as well as a whole chicken. I can get some pork in supermarket. I can order a rabbit and a duck (including duck heads for brain) at Hare-today.

First- you desperately NEED to start cutting out the cream. It should only be max 1 tbsp for the entire amount, and decreased to nothing in a month's time. It is just meant as a lure to get them started on it. The next time they get it, cut it to 2 tbsp, then the next week one, then 1/2, then just a drizzle on top, and the following one nothing. That will have them off it in one month. Also, the organ puree needs to be half LIVER and half kidney. They need liver in their diet. It can't be just kidney. For Ruby, 1 tsp is 5ml. So if her average for a day is one ounce that means for one meal she needs to eat one TABLESPOON. If she eats more in a day of regular meats, then the amount of liver/kidney puree has to be increased accordingly. You will have to keep working with her to make sure she is getting enough of what her requirements are. Use the sample menu here holisticferret60.proboards.com/thread/146/basic-frankenprey-menu to work your menu. Learning how to make your own with what you have available is part of the learning curve Take what you've got on hand and slot the correct meats into the menu.

"First- you desperately NEED to start cutting out the cream." I tried. The boys would eat it without cream, but not Ruby.
