They are eating the turkey necks but not 'all the way' as I do find bits of bone stashed. The stashed bones are tiny pieces really - more like the center of the vertebrate which is more dense bone part.
So my bone in 'real' meat right now is chicken wings, game hen (all of it), and turkey necks. I am sure they would gnaw at other larger bones but that really isn't the idea. I'll check the Asian market again for whole quail.
What bone-in meats (really what body parts of the animal) do your crew eat?
Any other suggestions?

I feed turkey necks, chicken necks/wings, cornish hen, quail, as well as a commercial grind(morning meals). When I can(it is very expensive here) I feed mice and rats. As for the turkey necks, leaving small bits like that is normal

Congratulations You've graduated and you're ready to walk this path alone. You have the foundation to help you feed your fuzzies in a more natural and healthy manner. Please remember that your learning never stops, and dietary needs change from ferret to ferret and throughout each their lives. I would like you to be aware that though you now have the capability and the knowledge to create your little ones diets you are never alone and that your mentor (you need only pm) is always available to you. The list is also a very good resource and you should always be aware that it's available to answer any questions you may have either about diet or care. As you are operating on the top end of the bone in meats amount keep a close eye on their stools for any dryness or difficulty in the litter box. Good luck, in a few days Sherry will lock down this thread and place it in the archives but be aware that you can always look through it as a reference tool but you just will not be able to post to it. Your mentor will be in to congratulate you a few.. Good luck ciao

Why, thank you! I did not realize I was so close. I did have one other menu I wanted feedback and it actually moves down a bit from bone-in. It was interesting when I actually did the breakdown on top of the food in my menu I saw the same thing. As my last post in here, both boys gained weight this week. I'm all smiles!!
Week of 1/28 Ghost and Branch Ferret's name: Ghost Ferret's weight: 1385 grams Ferret's Daily Medications: none Ferret has eaten "X" amount on average per meal. Eats between 2 and 4 ounces morning and night. Stools on various proteins. Dark to brown. A bit grainy after bone-in meal. Much darker after organ meal. Egg meal ends up a bit watery.
