I read that ferrets can eat quail and since I found frozen quails in the pet store I might buy some for winter (my ferret) but theres some things I'm not sure about such as whats the best age for the quails to be? I think there were 1 day old quails, a week old quails (or 5 days idk) and 2 week old quails. I also want to know if the quail can be just defrosted and fed or if I need to cut out certain parts of it, and will feeding whole prey 1 or twice a week unbalance my ferrets current frakenprey diet?

It's best to get adult whole prey animals, to ensure they provide enough nutrition for the ferret.

Adult whole prey is the most nutritionally complete and the only thing we consider a meal. Other ages are considered treats. There are no parts that a ferret can't eat, they will, can and should eat the fur or feathers even. Most ferrets often times will not eat the stomachs or intestines of prey animals. (I have a male that happens to be one of the oddballs and will eat them so you can certainly try). When first feeding prey you may need to chop it into pieces for them until they realize hey this big thing is the same as those smaller pieces lol.
