I was cleaning a quail this morning for my ferrets and found an egg inside. Sorry I took it out of the thin, dark tissue it was in (upper right of egg)before taking a picture. Next time if i find an egg I will leave as is and send pic --just for anyone who may be curious as to what it looks like in enveloped tissue. Anyway what concerned me was the other things. Wondering if anybody knows what this is--- the little beads and the bigger yellowish round things? I did not feed them to ferrets but did feed the quail. I got my quail from Hare Today. I will shoot Tracy a pic to see if she knows. I also hope to get an answer from N Carolina Extension.

Found another egg in quail. Went ahead and took a pic while it was in sack. Kind of feel bad for these girlies. Had to brighten pic because it was a little too dark to see specs on egg. Did give the soft underdeveloped eggs--but was a little afraid to give the egg in shell.
