This is probably going to be the craziest sounding post I’ve made, but one of my hobbies is finding ways to challenge my babies, I find it so fascinating watching my dog chase round her turned over dish as she works out how to get the treat.
As a result it’s no wonder I’d like to do the same for my future ferrets, I’m sure I’d come up with some ideas when I actually get them but I’m bored and feel myself going abit brain dead from doing nothing. Plus it will be rewarding seeing them work it out, when I get around to it.
So far all ive thought of is a DIY treat ball or a doggy treat ball, that could fit and let slip a small chunk of meat, with some ease, for obvious reasons it will be cleaned.
The only other idea I had was a hide and seek style puzzle similar to this
other then that my brain is fried lol

I don't use puzzles with mine as they just flip em over and eat all the treats. I have frozen a raw egg that I've cracked slightly an it's frozen in a way to make them work to get at the frozen egg's inside and that kept them busy for awhile, why not try that?

I like it, I often cook a boiled egg for the rats and give it to them in the shell, they love trying to crack it. Completely forgot about that thanks!

While i do not give treats other than raw foods, that is sooo cute. Where did u get the toy? I have done this and have put plastic measuring spoons in water as well. Should have put a towel underneath tub Nice warm water is best.

One of mine likes to snorkel in water - stick his whole head in up to his ears and poke around under the surface.
There are some cat treats called Thrive - you can find them at pets at home - which are 100% dehydrated raw meat/liver/shrimp. I use the liver and the shrimp varieties at the moment, for no particular reason. They’re quite expensive, but I only use a couple of tiny pieces every now and again, so the stuff lasts.
I just toss a couple of dehydrated pieces into a bowl of water, let them fully rehydrate, then put the bowl where he can get at and and watch him go paddling and snorkeling until he finds them and fishes them out. He enjoys the exercise, he loves the treats, it keeps him happy for a few minutes (he’s too good at getting the treats!), he likes getting dried in a towel after he’s done and I get the exercise of mopping up afterwards.

Sadly the toy nor ferrets are mine, I own rats but plan on getting ferrets as for the toy I’m sure it’s a doggy treat puzzle, so amazon would be the best bet

Better to use an animal-based oil for a critter that should eat animals.
I get Wee Doogie’s Pure Salmon Oil off Amazon - they all love the flavour. I’ve also tried the pets at home variety of salmon oil, which is called Pooch & Mutt, but the girls wouldn’t touch it.... the whippets aren’t fussy so they’ll get to finish that one off.

I use the following. Salmon oil, krill oil, triple marine fish oil, and some have used seal oil or emu oil. Any of those would work

The oil limit is generally for all oil combined. You can alternate oils or just give smaller doses more frequently if you want to give many different kinds.
