I got from a Mennonite butchery out in the country what they described as ground whole bones and was expecting a powder or paste, but what I got was something I didn’t expect and am not sure how to balance. What I got was a sopping wet, meatloaf-looking ball of bone shards suspended in marrow. I divided it into little meatballs and have been giving it as a snack a few times a month because I’m not sure what type of meal to count it as if giving more than that. Any ideas?

what type of bone? Beef, pork mixture.... I've heard of getting raw bone meal before and would give it similar to powdered but I've never had the opportunity to actually use it ciao

*points up at the title* beef, haha. I’m not sure of what bones went into it, it’s very finely ground so the shards aren’t visible aside from white scatter, but you can feel them between your fingers as little beads. You can probably count out ribs and feet, because the butcher sells those. With so much marrow they’ve gotta be at least partially legs and spine. It looks and feels like a pink, spongey, wet meatloaf with breadcrumbs in the mix that doesn’t like to stick together.
