ok i'm not sure exactly where this should be but ?? this is strange.
i have 3 ferrets. 2 of them are 3-4yo and are raw fed. i adopted a ferret a couple months ago and he's struggling a bit trying the soup. he was about 9mos. when i got him.
but i just looked over and the feeding area where i give my older ferrets their meat (a little caged area)--- this guy went in there and pooped right where i feed them!! right where i usually put their bowls/plates.
this is really weird? it's not in a corner, not by a litter box, and it just strikes me as Really odd. is there a reason he did this? 😮

It's a statement of ownership. Unfortunately, that's how ferrets signify their property or their dominance over their pears ciao

Age has nothing to do with who's the top dog. I've got a pair of kits who are terrorising my adults. In their opinion they're the best there is, because of their attitude and their cohesiveness, they are. The little terrorists actually work together and none of the adults so far can deal with them, in fact a couple are terrified of them. ciao

Ignore it is about all you can do :/ Once out of the cage I tossed that batch of meat as the others wouldn't touch it lol

No, it's rarely personal. Usually, directed at other fuzzies. I had one boy who insisted on pooping in the water bowl but he was a waardy and it was just an oddity that was his alone. Pooping on food is all about ownership. ciao
