Congrats new ferret mom. I am sure if she could, she would say thank-you for her new forever home. Ferrets are so precious.

Congratulations!! My ferrets are Marshall too. I just got them and I'm picking up my third in a week. Stopping at 3.. I'm going to have to learn how to juggle while picking up poops because they always insist on helping. There's a lack of breeders out there and too many Marshall ferrets. It makes me sad that I'm supporting them but they need love. Be prepared for sicknesses as Marshalls don't care about the quality and just keep breeding what the can. I have funds lined up for pet visits and I will be looking into pet insurance as well. Have fun with your new baby and I'm happy to hear she's in good hands now. It's so sad when animals get passed around and neglected.

It's so sad when animals get passed around and neglected. I know, she is such a sweet girl! I'm seeing a little bit more of her personality this morning (more running around and excitement, she hopped this morning!) and I still don't understand how anyone could let her go. I cleaned her cage last night and I know WHY her last human bailed, she got bored. That is the only logical explanation for why her cage was that dirty! It took me a solid half hour to forty-five minutes of scrubbing everything with a toothbrush to get everything cleaned. As soon as funds allow I'm buying her a ferret nation cage and a buddy! Sweet girl deserves to have someone to speak ferret with. I agree, I HATE supporting a company that is just awful, but any ferrets in my area are going to come from petco no matter who I buy them from and I strongly believe in keeping most animals in pairs.

I saw some cages on Wayfair for a good price. I'm unsure about shipping because Ive never ordered anything from them so I don't know how long it will take but I think shipping is free. I lucked out. The pet store I got mine from had a cage... A very awful cage with awful floors and broken plastic on it. I needed a cage when I adopted Boba. It was $300. I went to a more local pet store and they have a loyalty program that gave me a little critters cage for $200. It looks exactly like ferret nation. I don't know if there is a difference. I returned the $300 cage that was half the size. I love the new cage. I want to do some research to see the ferret nation add on will on it so I can have 3 floors. Although that's more room for poops... The never ending poops. Buy all the litter boxes and good cage cleaner. I think I go through a roll of paper towels every 2 days. I need more corner boxes lol.
I feel like I can sit in the middle of the room and they will ignore me completely but once I go pick up the poop is attack human time. I call them farRATS.

@hamby360 aurra Actually, one of the best ways to get a Ferret Nation cage is to check out your local classifieds website for the area you live in, eg. Let Go or for me in Utah, KSL. People are always selling for a reason, decided to downgrade, ferret died, gave ferret away, was just lying in storage, etc. I own 3 Ferret Nation Double cages myself. The first one I bought full price off of Amazon. The second two, I got off the classifieds. The one cost me $100, Double FN + Exit Ramp, barely used a few months. The other one I got when I adopted Ares and Apollo, I got them, the Double FN barely used 5 months, Exit Ramp, plus 2 sets of the FN Pan Covers and an Exit Ramp Cover and a cat tree for $100. And I am crazy OCD, and a real germaphobe some days, so these cages got scrubbed cleaned with bleach out in the sun and afterwards washed again with vinegar to make sure they are clean and received several water rinses after too. But both cages came in EXCELLENT condition, nothing broken, nothing bent, and barely no paint off anywhere (the one has a tiny, tiny scratch of paint off where the one bar connects). But for the time being, I may never need another FN Double cage, especially since my furkids are getting their own 300sqft room in our new house soon, but I now own 3 fully outfitted FN Doubles for still less than the price of 2 cage only.

Oh this is true!! I forgot the first place I looked was used online sites but I unfortunately found nothing. I have to go to another province (in Canada) to get a ferret because that's closer than going across the province.. not many people near me have ferrets. My favorite pet food place even said they stopped selling ferret food and other stuff 2 years ago because of the lack of buyers. There is very little in other pet stores as well. It's the main reason I checked up on diet and found holistic ferrets... But yes!! Check on used sites. You may find something great.

aurra I will say one thing for when using a classifieds site, it is ever changing and definitely requires you to check regularly in the hopes of finding something. Ferret Nation cages and even Critter Nation (you can use either for ferrets) often will not last very long before someone snaps them up, they are some of the best cages there are and people swear by them for so many animals, from rats to chinchillas to ferrets. As for not having the ferret foods and products, I really do think sometimes that's more a blessing than not. Most of the commercially marketed and sold for ferret products (hello, Marshall's) are downright awful, and actually deadly in the long term, to ferrets. So better off without, haha. I am glad that it has led you to this forum, we will always try to help advise any way we can, we all love our fuzzies dearly and just want the best for them, and also for those of others.

Oh snap!! You're awesome it never occurred to me to check letgo! I have been stalking Craigslist and it is pretty devoid of ferret anything anywhere near me, I bought my DCN on amazon and LOVED it, absolutely amazing quality. I'm now gonna start stalking letgo lol thank you!
