Hey everybody!
My name is Lexi and I'm 14 years old. I don't have ferrets yet, but I will hopefully be getting some very soon. I have a few questions concerning their diet...
I have decided against feeding kibble. I would love to do a balanced frankenprey diet, but my mom said absolutely not, she doesn't want a bunch of raw meat stashed in her freezer nor want me handling it. I get it, but still want to do more of a natural diet. I was thinking about freeze dried raw, more specifically Vital Essentials because they use no fruits or vegetables, just meat. www.chewy.com/vital-essentials-beef-entree-mini/dp/105579. Has anyone had any experience with this food? Is it a good food? Also, how long would a one pound bag feed two ferrets? I plan on hopefully being allowed to supplement every now and then with actual raw meat, like chicken wings, necks, etc.
I was also thinking about raw grinds. I'm not sure if my mom would like this idea either, but just in case I wanted to ask. I was looking at the whole prey grinds on my pet carnivore. www.mypetcarnivore.com/shop/chicken/fine-ground-whole-chicken-1-lb/. I would buy different proteins and again, hopefully, supplement with chicken wings, necks, etc. once or twice a week for teeth cleaning purposes. Would this be a good diet? Would I still have to brush their teeth? Also, are these grinds a good price and how long would a one pound container last?
Thanks so much for any advice, and I apologize if I was pestering anyone with so many questions. I just want to give my future fuzzies the best possible life, thanks again
