Oh anunnaki I am so sorry you and Bandit are facing this. Not to add to your load but I would be worried that my others may get some people and hospital and fear the vet as a place of death if they are there when he is put to sleep because ferrets do remember. I am not sure that would happen but it would worry me. I hope you and Bandit find a way to let him be at peace and no longer suffering that is the best way for you and all your ferrets. You are in my thoughts

I"m so sorry....one of the problems with cancers and ferrets is that sometimes the cancer allows slow bleeds. Don't worry if his spleen ruptures while he's in your care. It happens in a matter of minutes and as hard as it is for you, they just slip away. There is nothing you can do about a bleed out if it occurs, it happens in a matter of minutes. I wonder if it's an adrenal gone malignant (he's the right age), it usually spreads if that's the case. The fact that he's bleeding from nose and mouth sounds like a poor prognosis for any alternative solutions. I was going to suggest advanced adrenal as that can cause low red blood counts or anaemia but this has gone far beyond that. I really don't know what to suggest except that it's a difficult place and we totally understand. I guess what I can say is what was told to me when I first got into ferrets. Can he be a ferret? Is he enjoying life? and what would you want if you were in their place? Your vet has already said the prognosis is poor, it's now up to you. It's a very lonely place to be, I've been there so many times and you know...it never gets easier. I'm sorry. I will light a strength candle for you, may you find what you need, to make what decision is needed for your wee lad ciao

Thank you all for all your help. It took me a few days to understand I was being selfish and that he was suffering for it. It doesn't help that my family is all out of town but I decided today enough was enough for him.
DIP my sweet boy 💙

Goodbye little one, dook in peace. You are whole and healed again, enjoy your adventures with all the other fuzzies who crossed over before you.
My deepest condolences to you and your family sweetie. I know this journey was hard and painful and that this decision wasn't easy, but you did what you needed to for your little boy. Thank you for being strong enough to do that. Your little boy was loved so much by you and you gave him a great life.
