*sigh* so true that's why I won't buy another from the pet store. I have two who are rescues and I hear about people giving them up all the time now so I'll just take those poor babies. I'll certainly check here if I'm ever recommended another ferret product. Thank you so much! I bet I have been making him worse, he was on his 2nd bottle!

I took bandit for another shower steam and as he slept I gently rolled wet qtips over each nostril. I managed to get the dried pieces out only to realize they were dried blood. Removing them allowed the blood to drip from his nose again. We may be nearing the end now, he's only getting worse.

Thank you everyone. He's breathing a lot better today! No open mouth gasping! I'm too scared to hope he's getting better yet but he's back to whistling while he breaths and eating a good amount. I'm not giving up until he quits eating and fighting me when I give him medicine. I cleaned everything to get rid of the ferret rx and woke up to do three shower steams on him. He's so tough! However, now I have horrible anxiety when one of my others sneezes...it wakes me up. Ugh We still have several days of the clavamox so I'm still holding out that he will recover. He's been sicks for weeks and it's hard to stay positive.

You're a good ferret momma, don't let this stress you out too much. Take a little time for yourself to relax. Deep breaths, I know it's hard, but remember, wee fuzzies can pick up on our emotions and it can stress them out too. Whenever things feel like they're too overwhelming, get up, step outside and just take a moment for yourself.
I'm so glad to hear that he is fighting back so hard. He's such a strong little boy. I will keep praying for him to make a wonderful recovery so that he can spend many more years with you.

Thank you for that. I'm trying really hard to keep busy and not dwell on it so much. I keep checking on him and he has recently been choosing to sleep in his litter box?! I keep moving him but when he wakes up he goes right back to it...he just had his head on pooh His cage is clean and he has a lot of bedding ...I don't get it.

What kind of litter box does he have? Is it an enclosed one? Is it maybe providing him a dark spot to hide in while inside his cage?

I just switched from large corner boxes to rectangular boxes. I tried twice putting boxes in the cage for him but he likes the litter boxes instead. The top of the cage has a blacked out shelf for him and the whole cage is in my laundry room in complete darkness. He just started this when he got really ill. So strange.

Hmm, that kinda throws my theory out the door. I hope maybe one of the admins or other members might have an idea as to why he started doing this. Poor little guy.

Maybe he's got a fever and is getting hot?

We are back to mouth breathing. This is him just a sec ago. he rubs his face in it before he lays down.

What do you use for your litter? Is it possibly pine-based or the like? I've heard of some fuzzies who end up with some respiratory issues in conjunction with using something like pine pellets.
