Hi,
After a 6 year gap I have just got myself a new 9 week old fuzzball. She of course is gorgeous but as a proud dad I'm going to say that aren't I?. I found this site totally by accident but I'm so glad I did. Already I've found out so much information that I didn't know and I had 3 fuzz balls (who have since past away) years ago. Lavender (my new baby) was bought up on chicken wings so I thought it best to continue with raw food rather than kibble which I had fed my other ferrets on, but I realised I knew nothing about a raw food diet and decided to google it. And this site came up. Thankfully I have a neighbor who works for a raw food company (delivers mainly to dog owners) and I've had a chat to him and he says he can get me anything I need! Wow! Lavender is going to be one well fed ferret. Now I just need to work out exactly what I need. So far the little scamp has scoffed chicken livers, chicken thighs and wings, bones and all (crushed). She is a house ferret so I spent some time previous to her arrival ferret proofing as much as I could the lounge and kitchen (the rooms she roams). I also cleared the shed and will make that a playroom for her too. Currently she sleeps in a large cardboard box that she yet can't escape and I have a smaller cage that she can go in and out of when she is out and about. As I have a laid back dog I am trying to make sure that both animals get plenty of space but also spend time with me together. So far Lilybear (the dog) has had the lick/nip from Lavender and she hasn't reacted at all. In fact Lbear want to mother her! I take both animals with me wherever I go so I hoping to teach Lavender to be a friendly ferret. So far she has been a superstar!
